Clifton Suspension Bridge

One of the most famous Bristols landmark, Clifton Suspension Bridge, was designed and built in honour of IK Brunel in 1864. The bridge is open to pedestrians as well as motor whiles and offers a spectacular view of Bristol harbour and Avon Gorge. The Visitors Centre, located on the Leigh Woods side of the bridge, offers a more detailed history of the bridge. For a view of the bridge itself, climb up the hill to the Clifton Observatory, a truly perfect place to have a picnic on.
